Venture Architects

Help founders turn vision into a practical plan.

KFS Venture Architects are experienced company builders who bring structure to complex decisions, coordinate the right expertise, and help founders move from uncertainty to action.

The role

Lead the work without losing sight of the whole business.

A Venture Architect serves as the lead for a founder’s KFS engagement. You assess where the business stands, identify the assumptions that need testing, establish priorities, and help develop the work products the next stage requires.

You also coordinate KFS Resident Experts and delivery partners, keeping specialist work connected to the founder’s business goals and helping turn separate contributions into one coherent plan.

What Venture Architects do

From uncertainty to coordinated action.

01

Understand the business and its priorities

We begin with your goals, current progress, available resources, and immediate constraints. We examine how your product, customers, business model, and operating needs fit together to identify where focused work can make the greatest difference.

02

Validate assumptions and clarify decisions

We separate what is supported by evidence from what remains uncertain. Depending on the engagement, this may include customer discovery, market and competitor research, positioning, pricing assumptions, or business model analysis.

03

Build a practical roadmap

Findings become a plan with defined workstreams, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and responsibilities—making clear what needs to happen, in what order, and what is needed to proceed.

04

Develop agreed work products

Venture Architects contribute directly to the work. Alongside the appropriate specialists, they prepare the analyses, briefs, models, roadmaps, and playbooks defined in your engagement.

05

Coordinate the right expertise

As needs become clear, your Venture Architect coordinates relevant Resident Experts, fractional leaders, and delivery partners so every specialist workstream supports the overall plan.

06

Review progress and shape the next stage

We track progress against milestones, surface gaps and dependencies, and adjust priorities as new information emerges. Each engagement closes with clear findings, unresolved decisions, and recommended next steps.

Who this role is for

Experienced builders who can connect strategy to execution.

We are interested in people who can listen carefully, test assumptions, produce useful work, and coordinate across disciplines—not simply offer advice from a distance.

Cross-functional operating or company-building experience.

The ability to connect product, market, financial, and operational decisions.

Strong analytical judgment and comfort working through ambiguity.

A practical, collaborative approach to working alongside founders.

The discipline to turn findings into useful work products and clear next steps.

Experience coordinating specialists without losing sight of the whole business.

For founders

A shared scope.
A practical way forward.

You bring

Your vision, knowledge of the business, source information, and decisions.

Your Venture Architect brings

Structure, analysis, practical experience, and coordination through the KFS network.

Together, you establish a defined scope of work and a shared understanding of the outcomes to pursue. The engagement combines working sessions, direct preparation of deliverables, specialist contributions, and milestone reviews.

What you can expect

Useful work, defined around your next stage.

Depending on your company’s stage and the agreed scope, an engagement may produce:

A clear assessment of the business’s current position and priority gaps.

Research and analysis to support important business decisions.

A focused roadmap with defined milestones and responsibilities.

Agreed business, product, market, or operational work products.

Coordinated contributions from relevant specialists.

A documented handoff and practical next steps for continued progress.

The founder retains responsibility for business decisions and company operations. Implementation, software development, ongoing executive leadership, and other delivery services are defined within the scope of each engagement.
